What makes the holidays the most wonderful time of year? Simple: the magic combination of togetherness, family, and fun. For Academy Sports + Outdoors, that cheerful trio is right in their wheelhouse. With a broad range of the trendiest sports and outdoor brands, Academy products can hero as the centerpiece of a family holiday get-together or serve as a simple stocking stuffer. No matter their role, they bring an unbridled joy that lasts well beyond the holidays.

Out there for the holidays.

In spring/summer, we launched Academy’s “Have Fun Out There” campaign, an ode to outdoor fun and the memories made. We tailored this sentiment for the holidays to match the season, taking families outside with their newest toys—from grills to e-bikes—to show where the holiday fun really happens: out there.

The creative

Fun for all.

The Academy audience has an eclectic holiday wishlist. From basketball hoops and meat smokers to trendy water bottles and camo jackets, there’s a LOT to cover. In a series of vignettes, we highlighted the vast variety of hot products and brands that appealed to the wide spectrum of sports and outdoors shoppers. But, the warm fuzzies couldn’t be forgotten… it is the holidays. Each vignette captured a sense of joy, warmth, and togetherness that helped move the (pine) needle with viewers’ emotions and store sales. These pieces were strategically edited across :30, :15 and :06 spots that included brand video, holiday promotions, Black Friday deals, partnerships with DoorDash, and more.
